Call for proposals: Working with care in the arts field

Call

What ideas do you have for open, inclusive, caring and solidary ways of working in the arts field?
The corona crisis is painfully confirming what we have known for a long time: we work in a system of more and more, faster and better. This leaves few space for learning & talent development, for care and welfare, and for time with our audience. How do we create more time and space to create, experiment, fail, and meet our audience again? How can we care for each other in a transparent, fair and in a solidary manner?
With this call for proposals, Flanders Arts Institute aims to help develop and spread the ideas (for example, new forms of work and organisation, partnerships or tools) under consideration.
What ideas for the system of tomorrow do you have to change the conditions in which we operate? And what do you need for this?

Submit a brief idea here for “A Fair New Idea?!” around a caring arts landscape. This can be text (max 1 A4) or video (max 10 min). It must be submitted no later than 15 January 2021 (6:00 pm CET).

On 20 January, the jury will choose from all entries a maximum of seven ideas that can be further elaborated. For this each idea will receive an amount of € 400 and 2 hours of support from Flanders Arts Institute staff. The intention is to develop an implementation plan and budget together. These seven detailed proposals must be submitted by 15 February 2021 (6:00 pm CET). These too can be based on text and/or images.

The jury will select one idea on 17 February. That idea will receive € 12,000 and 8 hours of support from a Flanders Arts Institute staff member, spread over the duration of the project. Depending on your needs, this support consists of financial management, a sounding board for the implementation plan and/or providing interesting contacts.

The project will start no later than June 2021. Flanders Arts Institute is providing support for a maximum of one year.
