A Fair New Idea?!

In 2020, Flanders Arts Institute launched A Fair New World?!: a trajectory in search of a more fair, sustainable, solidary and inclusive arts sector.

Four open calls were organised under the title A Fair New Idea?! to develop concrete tools and proposals, each with a specific theme.

Call 1: Working with care in the arts field

Can solutions be found in a partial collectivisation of income? That explores Common Income, the idea selected within our first call.

Call 2: Sustainability and international collaboration

Out of all submissions, the jury chose 11 candidates who were given the opportunity to develop their project proposals collectively for one year to answer various issues. Discover the outcomes here!

A Fair New Idea?! is about far more than supporting one project towards further development. Below are the ideas by theme, which were not developed further in the trajectory, but therefore not less valuable.
