Call: submit your input for the field analysis of the Flemish design sector
The Landscape Sketch of the Arts is a comprehensive analysis of trends, developments and needs in Flanders’ professional arts landscape. It also includes the design sector. On behalf of the Department of Culture, Youth and Media, journalist and curator Elien Haentjens is investigating the needs, wishes and aspirations of that particular sector.
To allow as many voices as possible to be considered, a mailbox has been set up. Any idea is welcome at the address landschapstekeningdesign@gmail.com.
So is answering or reflecting on the following questions, among others: what would improve your professional life as a designer? What initiatives are missing in the current field – from the government or otherwise – and would add value to your artistic practice? What role can the design sector take up within society, and within the cultural field? Which topics and aspects will determine the future of the sector, and how would you like to shape this design culture?
In addition, a series of specific sessions are planned in May. Those interested in participating in these can also let us know via the above e-mail address.
Of course, all ideas, if requested, will be kept confidential in the study.
