Curatorial residency by Artestes En Résidence (A·R)

Oproep

What?

Residency period: one month between october 2022 and march 2023.

Created in 2011 in Clermont-Ferrand, Artistes en résidence (A·R) is a non-profit organization that supports contemporary creation by organizing residencies for artists, researchers, curators and art critics in the field of contemporary art. We support international mobility of artists, the circulation of ideas and skills through the development of a vast network of local, national and international partners.

At A·R, residencies are considered as a time entirely dedicated to research and experimentation with no obligation to produce a final work or object. Our goal is to provide artists, curators and/or art critics with the necessary time for qualitative and in-depth research, to promote a true immersion in the residency context, and to allow for trial and error as well as critical questioning necessary for the development of artistic practices.

For whom?

The curatorial residency program aims at welcoming a curator and/or art critic of any age and nationality to Clermont-Ferrand between October 2022 and March 2023.

This program is considered both a research residency and an occasion for encounter with the local artists and art professionals. The participating curator and/or art critic therefore agrees to be available for meetings and dialogue with the local scene. However, he or she also has time to dedicate to their own research.
In order to facilitate exchanges with the local artistic scene, it is strongly advised to speak French or English.
