After Social Networks Online Artist Residency

The research-creation association After Social Networks is launching its first call for a two-week online artistic residency taking place in November or December 2020.

After Social Networks is an association that hybridises creation and research practices, in order to think about the status of user-generated content, as well as the media ecosystem in which they are embedded. It is composed of artists and researchers who are committed to designing encounters between various disciplines, imaginaries and practices.

This call for residency is open to digital artists whose work explores online social networks, or who are in the process of developing a project related to this theme. The residency, lasting two consecutive weeks, will take place on the association’s Instagram account (@aftersocialnetworks). It will consist of the production of a series of original contents designed for this Instagram account, thus turned into a curatorial platform. This series will reflect creatively on the different ways in which online social networks inform our perceptions, interactions and daily media practices.

The proposed theme for the residency is ‘Media Homes’. The selected artist, who may be French or international, will receive a grant of 300€ to produce this series.
