Speak your mind on the future of visual arts and museums in Flanders (WAITING LIST)
@ Anne van der Pot
September 2026 consultation session for the General Assembly of the Visual Arts
Visual arts organisations, artists and museums collaborate frequently today. But how does this collaboration work? With this first meeting, FARO and Flanders Arts Institute aim to gather insights and share practical experiences regarding the relationship between museums (cultural heritage institutions) and artists or arts organisations (galleries, art centres, festivals, biennials, cultural centres, creative hubs, foundations, etc.).
Throughout the day, we will explore various themes in greater depth: what role do art galleries, museums and artist residencies play in the growth and development of artists? How do artists, arts organisations and museums fulfil the functions set out in the Arts Decree on a day-to-day basis? How do we deal with contracts and negotiations? How can we make both short-term and long-term working relationships more sustainable? How do we involve communities and stakeholders in our work?
