Jonge Academie will bring together the players that impact the trajectory from art student to fully-fledged artist

Jonge Akademie

Early in their career, young artists are confronted with various players from art education and the professional field who influence their further development and the career path they will follow. These gatekeepers can vary greatly from one art discipline to another, but they always play a major role in the formation of the young artist’s artistic identity on the one hand and a sustainable artistic career on the other. As part of the city festival for tradition and innovation Barokke Influencers, the Young Academy and the Havenhuis Antwerpen are therefore organising a series of debates that question the care for our new generations of artists. Flanders Arts Institute joins in the debate.

On three Wednesdays in October 2023, Jonge Academie will bring together a group of the aforementioned gatekeepers from one cluster of arts disciplines and debate how all of these players impact the trajectory from art student to fully-fledged artist. The debates are in English.
