Elise Gérin (VUB) / Kunstenpunt

Elise Gérin, Master’s student in Social Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, is conducting research in collaboration with Kunstenpunt on the experiences of professional performing artists with physical disabilities active in Flanders and Brussels.
Read her call below.

How?

Through an interview I am probing your experiences and vision as an artist and person with a physical disability within the performing arts sector. The aim is to gain more insight into your artistic career, as well as into any thresholds you experience in this regard, both socially and artistically as well as legally and financially.

Since these are personal stories, I see these interviews as a conversation where the focus is on what you consider important and want to tell. I use this as a guide to shape the conversation.

The interview will last about an hour and a half. Both the place and time can be freely chosen by you.

Confidentiality

I make use of an audio recording during the interview. Of course, I ensure complete anonymity and confidentiality at all times. Participation also remains voluntary and non-binding throughout the study. You can stop the interview at any time.

Interested and/or would like some additional info?

Feel free to contact me at elise.marie.e.gerin@vub.be or contact Nikol Wellens of Kunstenpunt/Flanders Arts Institute during office hours at +32 472 33 02 63. I will then contact you personally and together we will see if an interview is possible.

I thank you in advance for your confidence and hope to see you soon!
