Flanders Arts Institute seeks multi-voiced forward thinkers
In 2025 Flanders Arts Institute is launching a three-year project on multi-voicedness in the arts. During this period, we will work together with (hands-on) experts and committed artists, citizens and organisations – inside and outside the arts field – to develop tools to achieve a multi-voiced arts field.
In 2025, we will identify barriers and opportunities, which we will then translate into concrete tools.
In January and February 2026, we will be organising three days – two intensive days in a small group and a public event – to work on concrete ideas for a multi-voiced arts field. We would like to do this with a small group of future thinkers: are you the person we are looking for?
Who is eligible?
- Individuals with expertise and an interest in multi-voicedness and its intersectional approach. Individuals with lived experience in their field of expertise are an advantage.
- Who are active in the arts (artist, cultural worker, …).
- Individuals who are available on 19 and 26 January 2026, from 11 am to 4 pm each day. In Malines. The public event will follow in the spring of 2026 ((late February/early March).
What do we offer?
- The sessions include preparation for and active participation in three sessions, two of which are closed and one of which is public.
- As part of a team of 15 people, you will develop concrete points of attention and actions that can strengthen multi-voicedness in the arts sector.
- We will meet at Kunsthal Mechelen in Malines.
- Mid-December, we will send the selected participants a collection of 15 articles to prepare for the sessions.
- For participants who are not doing this as part of a paid role at an organisation, we provide fair compensation.
- The sessions will be in Dutch.
Interested?
- Please register using the form below before 5 December 2025.
- We will let you know if you have been selected by 12 December 2025.
In the selection process, we aim to create a well-balanced group in which different areas of expertise and lived experiences complement each other.
