Contemporary Art Society: visitors’ programme in Antwerp, Brussels & Ghent

Flanders Arts Institute has partnered with the Contemporary Art Society with the ambition to establish closer links between the contemporary visual arts scenes in Flanders and the UK.

The Contemporary Art Society is a charity organisation founded in 1910. Its mission is to encourage the appreciation and understanding of contemporary art by a wide audience and to purchase and donate works by national and international artists to museums and public galleries across the UK.

The Contemporary Art Society’s next international trip on 1, 2 and 3 June 2016 will focus on Brussels and Flanders. It will offer opportunities to develop new networks and explore different organisational structures. During a three-day trip to Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent, a group of curators and museum directors will visit private and public collections and institutions. They will also meet directors, curators, artists and other art professionals within the visual arts scene of the region.
