Performing arts for young audiences at Momix Festival (FR)

For its 27th edition, the Momix festival for young audiences in Kingersheim (FR) puts the spotlight on creation from Flanders. ‘Momix à la Flamande’, is conceived as a showcase that offers Flemish companies a greater visibility to audiences and professionals from outside Flanders and that expands their exposure to international artistic practices. The focus will take place on 2, 3 and 4 February 2018, offering a rich selection from the multidisciplinary theatre for young audiences from Flanders, featuring dance, opera, theatre, performance, and contemporary illustration.
Six shows have been programmed: ‘horses’ by kabinet K, ‘Beat the drum!’ by Theater De Spiegel, ‘Woesj’ by 4Hoog, ‘Nipt’ by Laika, ‘Perdu‘ by KOPERGIETERY and ‘The Great Voyage’ by Judith Nab. Besides the shows, there will be exhibitions from three illustrators: Isabelle Vandenabeele, Ingrid Godon and Gerda Dendooven and the project launch of ‘Ver‘ by Lize Pede and Annelies Van Hullebusch.
Furthermore, the Flemish focus will feature a presentation of 4 production houses and 2 festivals next to a series of events including meetings, workshops and networking moments
Momix is a reference in the field of performing arts for young audiences in France as well as abroad. In 2017, more than 200 programmers from across France and the world attended the festival.
The Flemish focus is an organisation of Momix and Flanders Arts Institute, supported by the Flemish Authorities, the Flemish Literature Fund en the General Representation of the Government of Flanders in France.
