Landscape Sketch of the Arts: session digital creation

We would love to hear your opinion!

Digital transformation impacts many aspects of the arts sector. It changes the administrative process, the relationship with the public, the budget, but also the creation process. The consequences are wide-ranging: it requires artistic imagination, other technical skills, and room to learn and experiment.

On May 6, Flanders Arts Institute is hosting the first session for artists and art workers working in and with digital technology. Along with a focus group of 15 people*, we will explore trends and developments as well as strengths and opportunities.

Do you make art in and with digital media? Are you working around the topic of thematizing digital technology in art? Or do you use digital technology in making non-digital work? Then we would like to hear your opinion. Specifically, we are looking for artists or representatives of collectives or producing organizations, programmers or curators, technicians, software builders, presentation venues or online platforms, or people engaged in documenting or archiving digital creation, or teachers from (art) education.

Interested? Sign up via the link in the sidebar before April 14!

We expect no preparation from participants, only the desire to share. Flanders Arts Institute will moderate the conversation. Together we will extract insightfull knowledge from the conversation.

*If we receive over 15 applications we’ll make a selection that represents different profiles and disciplines

Compensation and barriers

Flanders Arts Institute wants the voices of creators to be strongly represented. If you work for an arts organization, for example, you can invite (an) artist(s) to participate alongside your own colleagues.

For freelance artists or art workers who aren’t part of an arts organization, Flanders Arts Institute provides a fee. Furthermore, we want to help accommodate any barriers for participants as much as possible, e.g. hybrid participation for people who have difficulty physically getting to the site, food preferences or childcare. Please let us know how we can accommodate you in the practical confirmation e-mail (which selected participants receive in the second half of April).
