Classic Connections 2019: international visitors’ programme of classical music in Antwerp

During the multidisciplinary festival Klara in deSingel (Antwerp), Flanders Arts Institute organises an international visitors’ programme for classical music professionals to discover our diverse music scene.

On Saturday 26 January 2019, radio station Klara will be taking over deSingel for the eighth time in a row. For an entire day, live music will sound out in all its halls, studios and corridors. With – as is usual for Klara – classical music in all its manifestations. From baroque to contemporary, from jazz to world music, and from musical theatre to debate. All carefully selected for you and performed by leading artists from both Belgium and abroad, as well as students from Antwerp Royal Conservatoire.

Present ensembles, orchestras and soloists include: the European Baroque Orchestra, Amandine and Laurence Beyer, the Flemish Radio Choir, Brussels Philharmonic, Trio Wanderer, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Severin von Eckardstein, Bobo Stenson Trio, Charlotte en Aaron Wajnberg, Belem & The Mekanics, Bel Ayre Sextet, Pentadox, Sirus Quartet.

Friday 25 January: welcome dinner

Saturday 26 January:  networking brunch at 10am, giving the international guests the opportunity to meet the performing artists and their representants. Then we head to deSingel for the festival, concerts start at noon and will continue until 10pm. Read more about the programme of Klara in deSingel.
