Visitors’ Programme Emmanuel Tibloux, Triennale Art & Industry 2027 in Dunkirk
Flanders Arts Institute has invited Emmanuel Tibloux, the curator of the next edition of the Triennale Art et Industrie in Dunkirk, to visit our country from 26 to 29 May. During this visitors’ programme, we will introduce him to the Belgian art scene through site visits and meetings with artists.
Biography
Emmanuel Tibloux is the curator of the Triennale Art & Industry 2027 in Dunkirk, entitled Tout Reprendre. The Triennale is organised by the FRAC Grand Large, a renowned museum of contemporary art in the Hauts-de-France region, and consistently focuses on art and design in Europe, with an approach characterised by a multidisciplinary perspective. The theme of this edition is to explore industry and what remains of it. The curator reflects on how we might reconnect with this industry. He is therefore interested in artistic practices that emphasise the use of ‘residual materials’.
Emmanuel Tibloux has been the director of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris since 2018. After studying at the École normale supérieure, he worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Université de Rennes 2, after which he successively took on the role of director at various art colleges. He was president of the Association nationale des écoles supérieures d’art (ANdEA) from 2009 to 2017. He curated several exhibitions and, building on his work exploring the link between art, design and industry, he is once again taking on this role for this occasion.
