At the Edge of Dawn – Photo meeting Arles
For many years now, Wallonie-Bruxelles International and the Direction des Arts plastiques contemporains de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Flanders Arts Institute and Kultur|lx – Arts Council Luxembourg have been supporting initiatives aimed at presenting photographic signatures at the Les Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles.
This year, the four partners are joining forces to organise a meeting based on the work of twelve emerging photographers. These artists were selected by a panel of six established artists, drawn from the combined proposals of six structures dedicated to photography: Cité de l’Image (Clervaux), Centre d’art Nei Liicht (Dudelange), La Nombreuse (Brussels), L’Enfant Sauvage (Brussels), mentormentor (Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels), Thinking Tools (Antwerp).
Dedicated to professionals, this meeting enables visitors to discover the work of eighteen artists and experience their unique worlds, areas of research and photographic distinguishing features.
The photo meeting in Arles creates a special moment to listen, observe and question what is revealed, and proposes an opportunity to hear and probe what is being shown.
Networking drink
This is a private event, but we invite photographers and professionals from Flanders to an informal networking event on Wednesday 9 July at 5pm on Quai de la Roquette, on the banks of the Rhône.
