Doe mee aan een groepstentoonstelling in Antwerpen

Choose a tile, leave your mark. This September, T-SPACE invites artists to take part in REMNANTS II, a group exhibition exploring memory, material, and transformation, starting from a single, unusual format: a 30 x 30 cm floor tile from the existing floor. You can choose to show an existing work or make something specific in situ for the occasion. Each artist will relate to one floor tile as their site of intervention. You may create directly on the tile, or remove/break it entirely and replace it with your work. Under a few tiles, there is the possibility to dig a hole… do whatever you like with that information. The rest is up to you! Sculptural, painterly, ephemeral, conceptual, narrative, poetic, anything is possible, as long as it remains within the format of the tile.

The exhibition continues our dialogue with the layered architecture of T-SPACE, a former teahouse in slow transition. Beneath the surface, there are stories waiting to be unearthed.

About T-SPACE
We are an artist-run space combining studios and a small gallery in a former teahouse. We focus on experimentation, dialogue, and artistic practices that challenge the norm. We care about art, and we believe in nurturing the personal and artistic journeys that don’t fit the mould.

All artists are welcome, regardless of background, experience, or identity. We strongly encourage applications from FLINTA, queer, BIPOC, and other marginalized communities underrepresented in the arts. These groups will be given priority in the selection process, while ensuring the exhibition remains open to everyone.

Please write a short proposal or sketch of what you would like to show or do for this project. Photos are not needed but are welcome.

Once you have been selected for the exhibition, you will have time to think about and develop your work, or showcase an already existing work. We look forward to discovering what lies beneath the surface!
