Open call for artists 2026

Call

NoWeapon.world is a collective of artists, curators and art critics that aims to stimulate reflection on the role of weapons as commercial products in contemporary society.
Through an open call for participation, the collective encourages producing artworks and performances exploring this theme.

The next open call will run from February 18 to March 9, for the upcoming noweapon.world event in Brussels starting April 11, 2026, inviting artists to contribute new works to this growing international movement.

Concept

At a time in history when many conflicts are destroying entire populations, NoWeapon.world commits to promoting radical change. Our mission is to create a world in which weapons are no longer a tradable commodity and to push the war industry towards obsolescence.

Project

The Exhibition of Art Posters for a World Without Weapons on the market is a unique opportunity for artists worldwide to join together in collective action for peace and disarmament. Public and alternative spaces become platforms where art can spark reflection and social change. The project operates as a concrete artistic action in a global context, encouraging dialogue, participation and shared responsibility.

Works selected by our movement and artistic committee intentionally avoid direct political references or topical news themes. Instead, the focus is on the deeper root issue: the normalization of the global arms trade.

Aims and objectives

  • An Art Poster Exhibition in Brussels at House of compassion (free entry – for 2 weeks from 11th April).
  • Opening in Brussels 11th April
  • Posters in the city of Brussels for 2 weeks, around the city

  1. Artists can only submit one image/ performance act concept.
  2. The work must be original, produced by the submitting artist and owned by him/her physically and intellectually.

  4. Images and performances must be suitable for all ages.
