Residentie
MINO LAB

What?

In September 2022, we launch MINO LAB, an annual artist-led residency for emerging (autodidact) makers who create from a sense of urgency to make an impact and engage with social change at large.

Providing sixmultidisciplinary artists with the space, time and expertise to develop their practice through a four-month residency built on the principles of social art practices. Exploring the potential of aesthetic strategies for change-making, the program offers residents tools to critically reflect on their practice, grounding it in its broader socio-political context.

The artists engage with professionals in the field through theory and practice, exploring art as a tool for community-building, the claim to neutrality, decolonial approaches, materiality and sustainable practices. The program works towards a final open studio exhibition. Throughout the program, the residents are coached and take part in group sessions, critically reflecting on their process.
