Summer Lab: Inclusive Platform K

As part of P.A.R.T.S.’ Summer School, Platform K is shaping a week around inclusive dance practices, guided by choreographer Andrew Graham.
During the week, we will explore different encounters on the dance floor, through a series of workshops guided by Graham. The morning workshops focus on warming up the body and stimulating inspiration through dynamic and meditative exercises. In these, we draw on contact improvisation, pair dancing, release techniques and “whaacking”. In the afternoon workshops, we explore and broaden notions of line, unison, soloing and grouping, to arrive at alternative ways of moving together. Collectively, we explore the dynamics of the group, in its diversity of individuals, experiences, imaginations and embodiments.
