Open call: Artist residency
In collaboration with Borderland Residencies, IKOB – Museum für Zeitgenössische Kunst launches an open call for a three-month artist residency in East Belgium (September – November 2025). We are looking for proposals that seek to use this time and space to develop a project on the theme of MATERIAL WITNESS.
The call invites proposals that explore how materials—whether natural, industrial, digital, or ephemeral—can act as witnesses to human histories, environmental shifts, or social transformations. The residency offers time and space to develop new work in dialogue with the surrounding area. We are looking for projects that aim for a direct engagement with matter and material to allow for original perspectives on local (hi)stories, the natural environment or geographical particularities.
The residency offers the opportunity for an artist to broaden their practice through the development of new research and production and to expand their network as part of the Borderland Residencies framework. We are looking for an artist who can benefit from this specific opportunity and context.
Deadline: 29.06.2025 (midnight), results communicated by email shortly after.
