Call
GRUUT

From 19 August to 1 September, the 8th GRUUT (multidisciplinary) art residency will take place. At the Gruuthuyse Castle in Oostkamp, eight artists from different disciplines will be selected to each develop a personal project for two weeks.

The residency will conclude with a public event in the form of an artists’ circuit through the castle park, where the artists will present the results of their research. This event will take place on Saturday, August 31.

Selection criteria

The selection criteria are the artist’s motivation to research and create, diversity within the group of residents and the art forms used. The aim of these residencies is, on the one hand, to enrich the participants’ professional network and enable new collaborations, and, on the other, to stimulate artistic research by offering an inspiring and creative framework.

Conditions and registration

The cost for a 2-week stay, including meals and accommodation, is 330 euros. It is possible to register as a group, in the case of a music group or other project collaboration. Possible languages are French, Dutch and English.

To register, send an email to GRUUT at gruut.theproject@gmail.com stating

  • introduce yourself in a few words;
  • describe the project you want to work on during the residency;
  • present your artistic work using photographs or other visual means;
  • answer this question in a few words: what drives you to create, what are you looking for in the creative process?

GRUUT

GRUUT brings together artists from different disciplines and supports artistic creation. Conceived as a research laboratory, this cultural project offers meetings, workshops and other events in Brussels, as well as artist residencies at Gruuthuyse Castle (Oostkamp). The aim is to question the broad spectrum of the creative process and promote diversity, both within the GRUUT network of artists and in their diverse practices.
