Flanders Arts Institute launches the first edition of (Re)framing the International, a three-part pop-up magazine series on working internationally in the arts.

This issue features:

  • A conversation by Tom Van Imschoot with the artist duo Selma & Sofiane Ouissi (Dream City Festival Tunis) on developing a new take on working internationally.
  • A conversation with Kobe Matthys (Agentschap) about a new international scope on copyright
  • Research by Flanders Arts Institute with quantitative data on on the internationalisation of Flemish performing arts and Belgian music bands
  • A reflection by Pieter De Buysser on the problematics of touring internationally
  • A keynote by academic Taru Elfving on residencies and future cosmopolitics
  • The first part of Hilde Teuchies’ article on reclaiming the European Commons

The publication of the magazine is part of a broader research & development trajectory about working internationally in the arts and their changing international dimension. With this trajectory, Kunstenpunt / Flanders Arts Institute is looking to support and stimulate the development of the arts and art policies in Flanders and Brussels.

The second and third edition will be published in February and May 2018.
